The Springfield Renaissance School
High Meadows School Celebration
Each year we pride ourselves in selecting key activities that elevate our school mission and commitment to Phoenix Pride. This tradition dates back more than 10 years and has been a special time for our community to come together. We hope that all students can become part of this legacy! An informational letter with student expectations will be sent home on Monday.
8th graders who want to be Forever Phoenix
If your child was assigned to a different high school, and after reflection you want them to stay at Renaissance, please call the Student Assignment Services Center at 413.787.6959.
Important for Parents
Buyback Hours for Attendance: If your child in grades 9 - 12 has missed more than 6 days of class for any subject, they have been issued buyback requirements to be completed by January 24th. If students haven’t completed their buyback requirements and submitted the paperwork to administration by January 24th, they will be assigned to February Vacation Academy.
Tardy to School: Starting February 13, 2023 we will begin issuing administrative detentions and Saturday School for students who are consistently late to school. Tardy phone calls will be made all week to prepare students for this shift.
Uniforms: Renaissance sweatshirts are on sale $10! Uniforms help to create a professional learning environment at home and in school, and wearing appropriate attire is a good habit for the future workplaces that our students will inhabit. As a reminder hooded sweatshirts are not allowed. Students needing a school uniform can reach out to their grade level administrator. The school store is fully stocked with brand new uniform tops.
Early Dismissal Change: We are no longer accepting phone calls, drop in, or email dismissal requests. If your child needs to be dismissed early from school, send in a note in the morning detailing the name of the student, the reason for the dismissal, and the time of dismissal. Please note, students can not be dismissed after 2:00. As a reminder early dismissals count as absences from classes and our attendance policy is that a student may not miss a class more than seven times in a semester. For students missing a class more than seven times, corresponding medical documentation is required along with a plan to buy back the time after-school.
Cellphones: We realize that cellphones are very much part of our students’ lives, cell phones have become a distraction in class and pose serious safety and privacy concerns in the classroom. Students are not permitted to use their phone once they enter school. If a student needs to call home, they can request a pass to the main office where they are able to use the office phone or their cell phone. Cell phones must be put away once the morning bell rings and should not come out for the remainder of the day.
